Incredible project by the architecture studio Pacheco Architects, where they have perfectly captured the essence of Ibizan architecture. In the heart of Orihuela Costa, Alicante, an oasis of Ibizan style has blossomed, a testament to the vision of Pacheco Architects and the unwavering determination of an Australian family. This project, born from the expansion and renovation of an existing home, has overcome unexpected challenges to become an inspiring example of tenacity and a love for craftsmanship.
The original home, anchored on the Alicante coast, longed for a transformation reflecting Ibiza’s free and luminous spirit. Pacheco Architects,with their deep knowledge of Ibizan aesthetics, designed an extension that would add a new floor, crowned by a spectacular terrace with panoramic views. This floor would house a kitchen, dining room, and living room with a large terrace, spaces designed for the enjoyment of family life and hospitality.
The project, however, was not without its obstacles. During construction, deficiencies were discovered in the existing structure, forcing the team to improvise ingenious solutions on the fly. Despite these setbacks, the architecture firm demonstrated its flexibility and adaptability, ensuring that the original vision of the project was not compromised.

The true test of fire came when the contractor abandoned the project after completing the structure. Far from being discouraged, the owners, a retired Australian couple, took on the challenge with admirable energy. Rolling up their sleeves, they set to work to complete their Ibizan dream. Today, the Ibizan home in Orihuela Costa is in the final stages of construction. With only minor details remaining, it will soon be ready to welcome its guests and become the home they always dreamed of.
